Essendon defender Jordan Ridley has been traded to Geelong, with the deal finalised on 7 October 2026. The trade sends utility Jack Bowes to Essendon along with four draft picks.
Ridley had been heavily linked to the Cats after Essendon placed a high trade value on the defender. Essendon were not budging on their valuation throughout the trade period.
The finalised deal gives Geelong an experienced backman while Essendon receives Bowes and additional selections. Bowes is a versatile utility who adds depth to the Essendon list heading into the pre-season period.
