A heavy winter storm brought the first snow of the season to Montana this October. Warnings and advisories remained in effect while the system impacted the region. The ice led to crashes and held up commuters. Skiers found early-season powder after the storm and shared clips of the conditions online. A local pet showed strangely to the white flakes. Sunshine returned to the area as the mercury rose slowly. This occurrence signals the beginning of cold season for the state.
