Hundreds of mourners filled St Andrew's Cathedral in Sydney to farewell police constable Mia Lay, 20, who was killed in a collision while on duty. She was posthumously awarded honours at the funeral service.

In the Beau Lamarre-Condon murder trial, a detective became emotional in the witness box while giving evidence about the discovery of victims. The scene drew visible distress from people in the courtroom. Separately, hundreds came to Bondi Beach for a vigil held to mark three years since the Hamas-led attacks of 7 October 2023. The crowd stood in remembrance as the anniversary was observed across Sydney.
